Welcome to our Family Online Reunion

I have created this weblog to provide a place online for any family members who want to use it, where they can provide comments and view postings about the family, even if they cannot come to our Annual Family Reunions. I hope that it will be used by all of the descendants of the Henry Asa Herring Extended Family which also includes the descendants of the parents and siblings of Henry Asa Herring; his first wife, Amanda E. Graves; and his second wife, Ida Alice Whitcomb.

Use this weblog as a place to quickly and publicly share information about the family with all of the other family members. It should also be a place for those family members who do come to the family reunions to get aquainted with other family members who can't always come to the family reunions. and to make contact with other family members who live at a distance from each other, but also make contact with family members who they may never meet, and whose only reason for being in contact or being interested in each other is that we are all related to one another by birth or marriage.

Thanks for letting me know about your family blog!

I also thank you for the family information you shared with me last year via the RootsWeb message board and subsequent emails. Your information helped me move along a little further with my family research on the Casteel family (my maternal great-grandmother)

Thanks, Dennis, for enabling us to share information on this blog page!

I keep hoping that some year we will be able to attend the Herring reunion, but that won't happen this year--too much going on. My husband and I are hosting the Corbin (plus some other families) reunion next summer--date not yet set. Hope we collect some good info by then to share.

How to get to the Reunion

From Joplin, go South to I44, then West on I44 to Highway 43 at exit 4, Turn
left on Highway 43 and drive south 5 miles to Holly Road, turn right, go to
the first house. There is a big stone gateway with a Wrought Iron gate.

From Tulsa, take the Will Rogers Turnpike east to Missouri, continue east on
I44 to Highway 43 at exit 4, turn right on Highway 43, and drive South 5
miles to Holly Road, turn right and go to the first house. There is a big stone
gateway with a Wrought Iron gate.

From Seneca, take Highway 43 North to Holly Road, turn left on Holly Road,
and go to the first house. There is a big stone gateway with a Wrought Iron
gate.
Holly Road is shown as Warren Branch Road on the Map printed below.

You can still look for the Warren Branch Baptist Church Sign, which is much
bigger than the Holly Road street sign(but it is old and getting faded), if
you are traveling south on highway 43. When you get to the signs, turn right
on Holly Road, and turn in at the first house, it is on the left.

Yes Linda, from Washington, I would love to have any information you can provide. I have conflicting information about Henry Asa Herring's parents, and would like to get as much as possible, especially any that has been documented and has sources. I have been in contact with another descendant of Hallie Lucenda's that lives in Butt, Montana. I would like to contact as many family members as possible.

I will be going on a trip to arizona and California next week, but would love to hear from you.
You can email me using the email address on Our Family Tree on Roootsweb. There is a link to it just above my picture on this Blog. Please Email me.
